Hamburg-Berlin by bike Technical information: maps at a 1:75 000 scale, 100 paged guidebook, 376 km long itinerary (variants not included) The Hamburg-Berlin itinerary uses three different cycle routes. The Elbe Route, the Havel Route and the Havelland Route (district of Brandenburg). You will start you trip in Hamburg and will follow the River Elbe Path, along the river banks (upwards). You will get to discover the landscapes of the River Elbe and its preserved biodiversity. You will ride through fascinating cities. The Havel Route links up between the Elbe Route and the Havelland Route. The quality of the Havelland Route is excellent and you will reach the capital city, where your trip ends. The itinerary is fully signposted. However, 3 different types of markings and road signs, according to the Route you are riding on (details and explanations in the guidebook). NB: this guidebook exists in German version only; yet its detailed and comprehensive cartography, a small lexicon might be helpful to understand the descriptions. Ed. 2009
