Discover by bike the country of wind mills, clogs and tulips! Holland is one of THE countries dedicated to cycling: in proportion with its inhabitants, Holland has the biggest amount of bicycles in the world. The reason for that is the Dutch people often have several bikes, according to the situation: for instance, a mountain bike for leisure time and a folding bicycle, to take in the train/car. This guidebook is divided into 15 day-tours and the Zuidersee itinerary. Each itinerary starts with a highlight: it can be a series of windmills – such as in Kinderdijk and Zaanse Schans – or cheese dairies and eel smokehouses – like in Woerden and Volendam. Places of interest such as Amsterdam, Delft and Middelburg are on the way. Don’t miss the Southern islands, the Zeeland and its wonderful coastline, as well as the impressive Delta Works.
Total length of the itineraries: approx. 1000 km. You will find rental shop tips at the beginning of each tour. Maps at a 1:75000 scale. Ed. 2010, German version.
