The Main Route is very a secured and marked up itinerary, easily accessible, that cyclotourist will certainly
enjoy for, among other things, the quality of the accommodation, the gastronomy and satisfying train services.
You will mostly cycle on cycle paths, along the Main banks, or along minor roads with little traffic. You will
pass through cities such as Francfort, Aschaffenbourg, Wurtzbourg, Schweinfurt and Bamberg (marked up
itinerary).
Red Main /White Main: the two rivers are joining in Kulmbach. In this guidebook you will find itinerary
suggestions starting from both water-springs of the Main. The first part is following the Red Main that originates
in Lindenhardter Forst, near Creußen (finish), where you can possibly take the train. The White Main water-
spring is in Ochsenkopf, in the surroundings of Bischofsgrün. You will then finish your trip in Bad Bemeck. You
can then continue your trip by train or by bus, from Kulmbach.
