The latest publications of "Switzerland by bike" offer you to discover the Mittelland route, along 370 km of cycling itineraries. Minor roads without much traffic will lead you from Romanshorn, Winterthur, Zurich or Lausanne to the heart of this region of lakes between Neuchâtel (literally New Castle in Old French), Murten (Morat in French) and Biel (also called Bienne).
The route is quite flat and will enable you to ride through Swiss plateaux with wonderful landscapes, gathering lakes, rivers, nice hamlets and villages and huge plains and fields.
This guide includes 15 informative maps with national and regional itineraries, profile with change in altitude of the route, more than 110 coloured pictures, visit suggestions as well as useful advice for bike carriage.
