Bicycle path from Salzburg to the Adriatic Sea
This 403 km route runs from Salzburg in Germany to the Adriatic Sea. The "Ciclovia Alpe Adria Radweg" project is funded by the European Union to improve cross-border connections and develop the regions concerned. Discover the Gastein valley, along the Möll, Drau and Gail. The Tarvis cycle path begins in Arnolstein and leads along the old railway from the well marked border. Then you drive on secondary roads from Moggio Udinese.
Very little traffic on the Austrian part of the route, however, traffic is heavier on the Italian part.
Follow the green signs for the Tauern, Gasteinertal, Möll, Drau, Gail and Tarviser cycle paths. On Italian soil, find the brown signs with the words Ciclovia Alpe Adria. In the future, the entire cycle path will be marked with the blue and green logo.
