It is in fact the Canal des Deux Mers, the sum of the canal parallel to the Garonne, from Bordeaux to Toulouse, and the Canal du Midi, from Toulouse to Sète, a well-prepared and marked route for cycling, especially for enjoy delicious moments with your family. The first is perfectly tamed and developed on cycle paths, while the second, mostly transitable by towpaths, translates a wilder landscape.
The guide proposes to cover the 505 km of the journey in 9 stages, plus a variant by the La Robine canal. Like the Loire, the relief is little marked, so you do not need a topographic profile, however the steep slopes are mentioned on the cartographic bases.
This guide includes:
- route comments (quality of the path, distances, water points, etc.),
- visit directions,
- practical information (address book for accommodation, catering, etc.),
- alternatives to conflict situations,
- tourist variants,
- and a 1/75 000 cartography worked and easy to read, the strong point of the guide.
An informed man is worth two: the guide is in Spanish. Yes, but a simple and direct Spanish.
