Carladès, a traditional region of France
Carladès (in Occitan) is located in the center-west of the Massif Central. Part of it lies within the departments of Cantal and Aveyron. It boasts lush valleys, volcanic plateaus, and panoramic ridges between the Cantal massif and the Truyère Gorges.
Carladès is crossed by the GR® 400 Tour of the Cantal Volcano, the GR® 465 from the Cantal Mountains to the Lot Valley, and the Via Averna.
The guidebook offers six GR de pays loops ranging from 3 to 8 days of hiking. The trail follows mainly municipal and rural roads. In addition to the hikes, the guidebook also features sections on gastronomy, flora and fauna, geology, history, iconic figures, heritage, geography, economy, sports, and leisure. So, plenty to find your way and learn, all in a small 88-page guide weighing 146 grams, making it the ideal hiking companion.
