From the Czech Republic to Slovenia via Austria by bike.
EuroVelo 9 is part of the European network of long-distance cycle paths, a true concentration of landscapes between rivers, seas and mountains. It connects the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea to the Croatian Adriatic over 1,930 kilometers. The section from Brno (city in southern Moravia) to Vienna via the Weinviertel, the forest and the Viennese Alps, then through the spa region to Styria to finally arrive at Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia.
Along the way, you will discover Moravian and Austrian wine culture. The highlight of EuroVelo 9 is undoubtedly Vienna, where you can discover all the magnificent buildings along the Ringstrasse. Head south into the Viennese Forest and take the thermal cycle path between Bad Waltersorf and Bad Radkersburg.
Styria, the green heart of Austria, opens up along wine routes, pumpkin and corn fields. To the south you cross the border with Slovenia on the Mur cycle path and soon reach the route destination, Maribor.
