From Munich to Venice via the Alps
The opening of the “Munich-Venezia cycle route” took place in 2015; since then there is now, alongside the Via Claudia Augusta and the Alpe-Adria trail, another way to cross the Alps on a cycle path.
The new cycle route not only connects the two world-famous cities of Munich and Venice, but also impressive natural spaces and landscapes, such as the Dolomites, which are part of the world natural heritage.
In addition to the sporting challenge, the emphasis is placed on pleasure and the variations on the course are numerous. The route is very varied in terms of landscapes: gentle hills of the Alpine foothills, the main ridge of the Alps, impressive Dolomites and the Venetian plain.
Culturally, you will learn a lot about the particularities of each region, from Bavarian traditions and Alpine specialties to Mediterranean culture south of the Alps. In addition, you can also stock up on culinary delights - from Bavarian sausages to Tyrolean delicacies to seafood in Italy.
