Ride the Iron Curtain Bike Route

Cycle along the tracks of what divided Europe between East and West for almost 50 years. You will cycle along the former Iron Curtain which stretched from Lapland to the Barents Sea before separating Germany in two and joining the Black Sea. Beyond the historical aspect, the route is full of tourist interest as evidenced by the 14 sites classified by UNESCO.

EuroVelo 13 - a major bicycle route in Eastern Europe

There is still a lot to do on this route. While the route is completely marked out in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, in the other countries it is still in the planning stage. You can therefore do a good third of the route following the signs and 2/3 of it improvising!
