The Algarve and the Atlantic Coast - EuroVelo 1 in Portugal
It's time to dust off the touring bags to discover one of the most overlooked regions of Europe: the south coast of Portugal, from Lisbon to Seville in Spain. If you like the vast ocean, endless beaches, vertiginous cliffs, grilled fish and seafood, then you will want to linger longer than 12 days on the 720 km of a wild route (the Vicentine coast between Lisbon and Cape Saint-Vincent) and tourist at the same time (the Algarve and the Spanish coast of the same cape in Seville).
Little relief, so the topographic profile is not necessarily useful, however it can be sandy, so this guide, from the bici: map collection, offers easier alternatives on the road for cycling.
You will also find:
- route comments (quality of the path, distances, water points ...)
- orientation of visits
- practical information (address book for accommodation, catering
etc.)
- alternatives to conflict situations
- tourist variants
- and a 1/75 000 cartography worked and easy to read, the strong point of the guide
Between Lisbon and Huelva (Spain) the route is that of EuroVelo 1!
