25 Days of Hiking on the Cathar Trail and the Chemin des Bonshommes

The Cathar Trail or GR® 367
Between Foix and Port-la-Nouvelle, this approximately 250 km route is rich in promise: Pyrenean balconies, ridge paths, fortresses, and breathtaking views of Languedoc and the Mediterranean Sea, it offers a wealth of opportunities for hikers. You'll have the opportunity to cross two Regional Natural Parks (PNRs), Corbières-Fenouillèdes and Narbonnaise en Méditerranée, before reaching Foix, which is located at the entrance to the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park.

The Chemin des Bonshommes or GR® 107
Between Foix and Berga (Spain), the Chemin des Bonshommes covers 227 km of hiking. This historic route was a major economic hub between the 11th and 16th centuries. It also served as a route for the Cathars to flee persecution from the Kingdom of France and reach Spain, a land of exile at the time. It takes an average of 10 to 12 days to complete.
