Alpine Panorama Route - Cycling Switzerland volume 4
This 483-kilometer route crosses, through passes and gorges, the northern foothills of the Alps with their habitat and culture rich in tradition. This road demanding a good physical condition allows to appreciate grand perspectives on the high mountain and the Plateau. It starts in St-Margrethen and leads, through the Appenzell and Glarner countries, to the Klausen Pass at 1948m altitude. Then it goes down towards Central Switzerland, climbs the Glaubenbielenpass, crosses the Entlebuch and the Emmental, reaches Thun and Friborg. After crossing the Gruyère and the Vaud Alps, it ends at Aigle.
