The way to Tours and Paris, on the Camino de Santiago
This Miam Miam Dodo hiking guide takes you on the way from Tours and Paris to St Jean-Pied-de-Port :
- the Paris-Chartres-Tours branch
- the Paris-Orléans-Tours branch
This is the oldest way to Compostela and the one that was the most traveled in the past. It is also the richest on a monumental level. The pilgrim will see on his way many gems of Romanesque art, placed there more than ten centuries ago by proud companion builders.
Physically, this is the easiest of the four major Jacobean paths. The relief is very modest throughout the route.
For fans of the pilgrimage by bike, you will not be able to do the entire route, however, you can follow the green route along the Loire from Orleans to Tours.
For those who practice a section of the Way each year, it is very easy to split up because it is always close to a railway line, in particular the TGV line which connects Paris to Bordeaux.
