Major cycle routes in France and Europe
You can discover France and Europe by bike along the major routes. Cycle routes and Eurovelos are constantly being developed and offer infrastructures that are increasingly better suited to cycle tourists.
If you are a follower of slow tourism and want to travel in a healthy, sustainable and economical way, don't hesitate to try cycling.
The Eurovelo project
This project led by the ECF (European Cyclist's Federation) includes 19 cycle routes in Europe. Few routes have been completed to date apart from Eurovelo 6 and Eurovelo 15. The most emblematic Eurovelo routes are Eurovelo 12 or Véloroute de la Mer du Nord and Eurovelo 13 or Véloroute du Rideau de Iron.
7 Eurovelos cross France. 3 routes out of the 7 are fully finalized, these are:
- The Vélodyssée on the Eurovelo 1
- The Loire by bike on the Eurovelo 6
- The Rhine Cycle Route on Eurovelo 15
