This hiking guide takes you through the historic route between Vézelay and Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.
This guide to hiking the Chemins de Santiago includes:
cartography designed for pilgrims: the maps are designed specifically for walkers with information (e.g. names of places, water points). A color code chosen for each type of service (accommodation, catering, other services) and icons which allow you to find the information you are looking for in a few seconds.
levels of difficulty and elevation differences: This new edition includes an elevation curve. A red-orange-green color code indicates the difficulty levels. Walking times are also indicated (average pace 3.5km/h).
historical, religious and practical information: Historical information (history of the towns, the pilgrimage to Compostela), practical (advice, contact details for tourist offices, taxis, events that could disrupt reservations) or religious (schedules of celebrations, guided tours) .
