The whole Via Podiensis, the main French Way of Saint James between Le Puy en Velay and the starting point of the Way of Saint James in Spain at Saint Jean Pied de Port, Ronscevalles or at the Somport pass.
The author describes the Via Podiensis, with the markings of the GR 65, in a total of 33 stages up to the junction with the Spanish pilgrimage route which takes over at St-Jean-Pied-de-Port/Roncevaux or at the Col du Somport. The route, popular with pilgrims and hikers alike, stretches into the southern Massif Central through the remote lands of the Margeride and Aubrac Massif and then across the Lot Valley, the limestone plateaus of the Causses, and the rolling landscape from Gascony to the Pyrenees.
