The Petirrojo Ediciones cards are the only media dedicated exclusively to cycle tourism. They are a good complement to the 50 routes offered by the Madrid en Bicicleta guide from the same publisher.
This second edition of the Noroeste map encompasses the entire northwestern part between the northern tip of the peripheral ring road of the capital (Anillo Verde ciclista, extensively described in the Madrid en Bicicleta guide) and the foothills of the Madrid mountain range (Sierra de Guadarrama), which culminates at 2428 m.
All transit routes have been listed, such as gravel paths, cycle paths, small roads with little traffic, greenways and transhumance tracks. A network of 20 continuous, interconnected cycle routes is available, totaling 577 km with the most varied elevation changes.
This guide includes:
- A UTM grid,
- practical information (public transport, reference addresses, bicycle rental companies, etc.)
- route comments (quality of the route, distances, difficulties, etc.),
- possible connections between routes,
- recommendations,
- and a 1/75 000 cartography, worked and easy to read, the strong point of the guide.
An informed man is worth two: the map is in Spanish. Well yes, but a simple and direct Spanish.
